Summary/Abstract: Ensuring the security and safety of students while learning presents a real challenge for the entities appointed for the task. Both teachers and institutions required to cooperate with schools as part of their tasks play an important role here. These institutions include the police force, gmina (or city) guards, and even – after complying with certain procedural requirements – the staff of security companies. The activity of teachers, officers, and staff of security companies is reflected in legal regulations such as acts, regulations and decrees. To ensure the security of students at school and at home, actions taken by teachers are crucial, since they fall under the legal protection provided for public servants and offficers. Their conduct at the moment when an offence is revealed on the school premises, and often also during the apprehension of the offender, is of particularly important probative value not only during the criminal lawsuit, but also in broadly understood crime prevention. Correct attitudes will be conducive to counteracting various social pathologies, of which students may become an “element”, which in turn will allow them to develop intellectually without interruptions and to follow suitable models. It goes without saying that school is the second most important educational environment after family home, and its role is to ensure that its students receive proper care and upbringing.
