Summary/Abstract: The article presents correlations occurring between law and safety. In turn the ambiguity of the expression law was shown which has crucial importance in connecting it with safety. On the canvas of these deliberations many areas of activity of man protected by law were demonstrated. Inquiry in this regard was based on chosen legal documents such as: act – the Penal Code, act on the state of emergency, act on departments of government administration, act on Police, act on direct coercive measures, act on Border Guard, act on State Fire Service and several other chosen legal documents. The gathered and analyzed material shows that the man can feel comparatively safe, since the law demands certain behaviours or prohibits specific behaviours.
