Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on 180 anthroponyms (second components of the binary nomination model) of Lithuanian origin used for naming Kėdainiai residents in the 17th century. They were collected from Kėdainiai inventories of 1604, 1624 and 1666 as well as Kėdainiai rectory land rent inventory of 1622. The tendencies of Slavicization of these personal names were established and 106 authentic forms were reconstructed. The comparison between the reconstructed forms of historical anthroponyms and contemporary Lithuanian surnames led to the conclusion that 63 (60 per cent) of them still function today. A part of them, i.e. 24 (23 per cent of the reconstructed anthroponyms), have the equivalents of surnames of the same origin but different formation. The remaining 19 personal names (17 per cent) have no equivalents among the present-day personal names.
