Summary/Abstract: Acquisition of a foreign language (primarily English) in pre-school and early school age is becoming more and more one of the basic preconditions of modern education. The quality of foreign language teaching largely depends on teaching skills and knowledge in the domain of methodology and educational psychology. The aim of this paper is to remind us of the most relevant theoretical models and principles related to the teaching of foreign languages at an early age.
