Summary/Abstract: The article tackles the issue of the number and the lexical characteristics of bi-transitive verbs in Modern English. A new interpretation of the argument structure of bi-transitive verbs in Modern English is suggested providing a number of proofs of morphological and syntactic character that support the supposition that the two arguments are direct objects.
