Summary/Abstract: Nowadays companies are facing increased pressure from customers and competitors. Customers have higher expectations, and manufacturers can meet these expectations only by increasing product’s quality, by reducing the delivery time and by minimizing the costs. Lean Management (LM) is an integrated system of principles, practices and techniques which help enterprises achieve purposes like: elimination of waste, improvement of operational performance, higher quality of products and services. LM is strongly coupled with human factors – without highly engaged, lean thinking and oriented for continuous improvement employees and managers it’s difficult to successfully apply Lean concept. Considering those facts, there is a broad area of actions for managers at different management levels where they should focus on social aspects of implementation and application of LM. The goal of this paper is to present roles and tasks of managers in the area of shaping favorable social conditions for realization of Lean Management concept.
