Summary/Abstract: There is a growing interest in the idea of continuous improvement, both in the area of theory and practice of management. The involvement of the employees is one of key factors for the effective implementation of this idea. The paper aims to present the ways of increasing commitment of the employees for improvement actions and indicate potential problems in this area. Literature studies and analysis of a case study of a large company operating in the food industry have been carried out, showing that there is no continuous improvement without committed employees, therefore managers need to shape this commitment. The audited company undertakes many activities to engage employees in improvements and already noticed many benefits. However, the company is also aware of the negative consequences of these actions. The need to follow this direction is beyond doubt, but this has to be done deliberately and carefully.
