Summary/Abstract: The ecumenical movement from the very beginning stressed a significance of the social commitment. It is reflected in the last decade in the harsh criticism of the capitalist social order. Article discusses selected examples of the critical ecumenical interpretation of capitalism: the Accra Confession by the World Communion of Reformed Churches (2004), the programme of economy of life by the World Council of Churches and the radicalizing Reformation ecumenical project (2014). It aims to demonstrate convergences in the theological and philosophical assumptions of the discussed approaches. Furthermore, it asks about similarities between the presented ecumenical reflections and the teaching of the Pope Francis.
