Summary/Abstract: The aim of the research is to defined the scopes of Adult education in the countries in transition. The objectives of the research are the following: l) to defined different approaches to the term "Adult Education", 2) to describe the general situation in Central and Eastern Europe, their introduction to the market economy, 3) to analyse changing values in the countries in transition and according to the analysed parametres to defined the scopes of Adult Education in the countries in transition.
