Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the problem of understanding forgiveness in the philosophical, educational, psychological and therapeutic context. At first the concept of forgiveness was used as a religious category, later this concept was used by philosophers and only in the end of XX century was studied by psychologists. Psychological analysis of the process of forgiveness revealed that forgiveness brings harmony and good relations with other persons. The aim of the research was to reveal the phenomenological sense of the process of forgiveness described by adolescence. As data showed adolescence understands forgiveness as an inner process, which means disappearance of a negative experience of the past, disappearance of negative feelings towards the offender, rejection of anger or revenge, regaining a previous good feeling of love and positive attitude to the offender. Forgiveness is also understood as openness, strong feeling of good relations with the offender. As the phenomenological analysis of the phenomenon of forgiveness revealed, personal experience of forgiveness scheme starts at the stage of “forgetting” (it needs time), later the process of “starting talks” begins, in the next stage “friendly relations are restarted” and in the end “conciliation with the other person and with oneself” comes.
