Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to define the level of innovation in enterprises that conduct business in selected regions with the use of various taxonomic methods. The first part is concerned with issues of enterprise innovation. In the second part, the level of innovation is assessed in individual voivodeships between the years 2010 and 2014, on the basis of statistical data. The author discusses the usefulness of multidimensional comparative analysis to define the level of innovation. A linear classification of the studied voivodeships in terms of enterprise innovation levels is performed, using standard and nonstandard methods. Moreover, the convergence of the classifications is examined. Ward’s method and the PAM method are applied to group the voivodeships according to enterprise innovation level. Finally, the effectiveness of the obtained groupings is assessed.
