Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the text of a Lithuanian Lord’s Prayer contained in the book ORATIO DOMINICA IN CLV. LINGVAS VERSA ET EXOTICIS CHARACTERIBUS PLERVMQUE EXPRESSA, published in Parma (Italy) by Giambattista Bodoni in 1806. The circumstances of publication as well as the linguistic characteristics of the Lithuanian text are analyzed. Its possible sources have also been investigated. It is clear that Bodoni did not know Lithuanian, but he used the Lord’s Prayer found in the book ORATIO DOMINICA CL LINGUIS VERSA, ET PROPRIIS CUJUSQUE LINGVAE CHARACTERIBUS PLERUMQUE EXPRESSA, published in Paris by Jean-Jacques Marcel in 1805. The prototype of the text is, however, to be found in the Biblia, tatey ira Rasztas Szwętas Seno ir Naujo Testamenta [...] published in London (1660-1662) by Samuel Bogusław Chyliński, whose text of the Lord’s Prayer was spread all over Europe and was reprinted by other Collectores Orationis Dominicae (e.g. Wilkins, Hervas) during the 17th-18th centuries.
