Summary/Abstract: In his late movies Miklós Jancsó often plays with death and resurrection (God Walks Backwards). Throughout his carreer almost always made „ideological dramas” about the technical, apocalyptic, grotesque and absurd rites of Power (TheRound-up, Season of Monsters, The Lord’s Lantern). While in his early films only used real music placed between noises and dialogues (Silence and Cry), the episodic nature of the 1980’s made place for the permanent dramaturgical presence of alternative rock music. (Wake up, Mate Don’tYou Sleep). In Debrecen he was always looking for the presence of young people, and they always undestood him. The present article contains the author’s personal recall of these meetings with the director.
