The Concept of Using Balanced Scorecard in the Management Control of Public University

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – indication to the possibility of using the balanced scorecard as a tool to support man-agement control in public universities. Design/Methodology/Approach – for the purpose of the paper, mainly literature review in transfer of concept with elements of a case study was used. Findings – balanced scorecard can be useful in the management control of public universities by promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of that control. Originality/Value – the paper identifies new area of research for management accounting, which is the use of its tools in the management of a public higher education institution
