Summary/Abstract: Purpose – Synthetic analysis of the impact of increasing the amount of wind turbines generating electricity in Poland on the value of the operator of electricity distribution system. Design/methodology/approach – In the article is used mainly descriptive analysis method, comparative analysis method and used are my own experiences and insights gained from the cooperation with one of the operators of electricity distribution system. Findings – If electricity generated from wind will increase this going to negatively affect the value of the operators of electricity distribution system. Originality/value – Article draws attention to the fact that renewable energy sources (particularly wind) are a problem for operators of electricity distribution system. In Poland, starting from the distribution companies, and ending at the Ministry of Energy, no attention is paid to the difficulties in managing transmission of energy from sources that are characterized by significant volatility in supply. The analysis confirmed legitimacy of further in-depth studies, the effect of which should be to create a reference model which allows to adjust the management structure operators of electricity distribution system to the specifics of dispersed power sources.
