The impact of energy security to the economic development in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The primary objective of Poland in the next decade will be to achieve a high economic growth rate. To achieve the objective, the increased participation in the economy of innovative products and services is required. The condition for this is to ensure energy security. The purpose of this article is a synthetic analysis of two most important components of energy security: the supply of electricity and network related with the distribution and transmission of energy. This will allow to verify the following hypothesis: the current situation in the production and distribution of electricity is not secure for Polish energy and poses a potential threat to the pace of economic development.
