Summary/Abstract: Mutual trust between the authorities and services from the EU Member States and between policy makers is the basis for an effective cooperation in criminal matters. Therefore, building trust and finding new ways to increase the accountability and mutual understanding between the different legal systems of the EU Member States will be one of the main challenges in the future.
