Summary/Abstract: The paper is based on the museum inventory pertaining to viticulture, cattle breeding and traditional crafts. The study aims to identify the way how viticulture is seen and evaluated at the level of a traditional community, from the perspective of the economic importance of this practice in the peasant household, from the oldest times until the early third millenium. The methodological basis of this research represents the ways of treating this phenomenon, being exemplified and commented in the scientific literature. At the same time, the analysis of the information gathered during field investigations leads to the disclosure of numerous elements of the peasant tradition which superposed on the actual mentality of rural communities
