Summary/Abstract: The present paper studies embroideries which are part of the museum collection and which, due to their ornamental character, have a major decorative value. As samples of artistic skill, we consider these items to be a useful and large documentary base for a general view on the art of embroidery on the Eastern side of Prut. Out of the entire collection of embroidered objects, we have selected the most representative samples, in order to illustrate the specific values on which this collection has been founded and existed until now. Essential and defining values have been noted for each category of items. The historiographic and scientific base of our paper is represented by the works of the scientists from the Republic of Moldova and Romania who have analyzed the specific features of cross-stitches from historic, artistic and technical perspectives
