Industry clusters 4.0 within sustainable knowledge-based economy

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a comparative analysis of the concepts of industry 4.0 and clusters 4.0 which interlink particularly in theoretical scope. There has been characterised the possibility of their implementation on the basis of the activity of information and communication technology (ICT) clusters cooperating with manufacturing enterprises in various areas. It has been emphasised that ICT sector constitutes a catalyst for structural changes in contemporary economy. The new knowledge and innovations, including technological, ecological and social ones, occurring in the ICT clusters ecosystem stimulate cluster partners and their informatics systems to networking as well as the transformation of industrial enterprises into smart factories. Simultaneously, they contribute to the permanent development of sustainable knowledge-based economy, strengthening domestic production competitiveness and diminishing the marginalisation risk in the socio-economic zone.
