Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the declension of numerals in the best 18th century monument of writing of the North Samogitian sub-dialect of Kretinga, the 1759 Ziwatas, and their development. The goal of research is to analyse and provide a synchronic description of declension of the numeral of the sub-dialect of the Ziwatas; to compare the declension paradigms of the numeral in contemporary Northwest Samogitian sub-dialect of Kretinga and the subdialect under analysis. Internal reconstruction and comparative methods enabled the reconstruction of the declension system of the numeral in the 18th century Northwest Samogitian sub-dialect of Kretinga.
