Summary/Abstract: Between the 20th and the 13th of March 2016 in Zakopane took place XX conference "Applications of Algebra in Logic and Informatics". True, its title does not encourage discussion of topics in the philosophical journal, but the opportunity to participate in the debates allows us to discern the organizational and substantive opening of this particular scientific community to more humanistic content. I am writing about this, although this interest should not be astonishing to any person who, although he can at minimum be able to look at mathematics as a historically developing process of knowledge of reality. Often, the basis of many scholars' attempts to describe the world was their philosophical stance far beyond the reflection on their discipline. Examples of such characters may be prominent thinkers who lay the foundations for modern philosophy and science: Rene Descartes, Gotfried Wilhelm Leibniz and Isaac Newton. It is worth mentioning, in this context, the outstanding Polish logic of Stanislaw Leśniewski, who drew his interest in deductive discourses on a profound ontological reflection. (Nota bene two weeks after the end of the session was a hundredth anniversary of his birth.) To this figure I will return later in his report.
