Summary/Abstract: This continuation of the study begun in Logos, No 74, analyzes the phenomenon of libertinism in Lithuania at the end of the 18th century. First to be considered is the manuscript copy of the work of d’Holbach and other related archive documents that frame this text. The characteristic features of libertine worldview are discerned: eudemonism, utilitarianism, naturalism, and stoicism. This conclusion suggests that at the end of the 18th century the worldview of Lithuanian gentry culminated in a tension between confronting standpoints. In this confrontation the translations of the texts of d’Holbach represent the most radical, that is, the atheist theoretical content of Lithuanian Catholic Enlightenment.
