Summary/Abstract: Aim of the article: the main aim of the article is to identify and analyse opinions and expectations of the respondents representing final purchasers on the market role attributed them by offerers and the relations linking them with offerers. Type of the used research methodology: the article is of the theoretical and empiric nature. To prepare the theoretical part, the author used the method of cognitive and critical review of the subject literature in the field of marketing, whereas while preparing the empirical part she made use of the method of questionnaire-based survey (to collect primary data) and the method of quantitative analysis (to work out data). Main research findings: the analysis of research findings indicates that offerers do not attribute to purchasers an adequate market role, still reducing it to one dimension which is buying products; good relations with offerers (particularly with traders) are important for purchasers but their expectations in this respect are not, unfortunately, met, what is a barrier to extension of the role fulfilled by purchaser with further dimensions; thus it limits the level of their marketing activity. Practical implications: taking into consideration by offerers the necessity to attribute to purchasers the role of key marketing partners actively collaborating with them in creating the offer would be beneficial for offerers and purchasers, yielding them long-term measurable and unmeasurable benefits. Social implications: building and reinforcing by offerers good relations with purchasers through attributing them with the many-sided role of marketing partners, contributing to meeting their expectations in this respect, allows for creating a community of partners based on emotional ties. Article category: research.
