Summary/Abstract: The Jesuit system of education did not emphasize history as a main subject. Ancient history was taught only as a part of lectures and commentaries on Latin and partially Greek works written by ancient authors. This trendwas also reflected by book production of the press at the historical Trnava University (1635–1777). Students might receive the essential part of information regarding Ancient times during lectures on Roman and partiallyGreek historians in the last two years of their study at the Faculty of Arts. Monothematic history works, aimed at Ancient times, were not published separately in Trnava in the course of the 18th century so that history of Greece and Rome became a part of chronological summaries. The only real history work is an atypical graduation print about provinces by the Jesuit Georgius Csussen Dissertationes, altera de coloniis Romanorum in genere, altera de coloniis Romanorum in Pannonia, which is outstanding because of its length, methodological processing and great amount of images.
