Summary/Abstract: The study shows the extent of the use of pesticides in food production. Highlighted the negative aspects of the use of the means of production of industrial origin. The evaluation of changes in the sales and consumption of pesticides in Poland and in the EU countries. It was observed that despite the many regulations and restrictions on the use of chemicals in most EU countries in the period 2005–2013 was followed by an increase in their sales.
