Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, technology transfer has become a common source of innovations and thus, a source of development for companies as well as it is so desirable in a highly competitive environment. The effectiveness of this pro-technological undertaking is driven mostly by the absorptive capacity of the taker of the innovational technology. However, the technology giver, who possesses a certain desorptive capacity, may play a vital role in technology transfer. Therefore, the technology taker should choose their supplier carefully, bearing in mind that this supplier may become a major success factor behind their success. On the basis of the survey results conducted, the author of the article tries to assess how the desorptive capacity of technology givers influences the effectiveness of the process of their absorption by financial companies operating in Poland. The research results prove that selecting an appropriate giver who possesses a suitably developed desorptive capacity, allows companies to go through a complicated process of innovational technology absorption. Above all, it enables them to achieve better results.
