The importance of technological innovations in the insurance sector

Summary/Abstract: The paper has empirical character and it is an attempt to evaluate the importance of technological innovations in the insurance sector. Due to this the author not only analyses the insurance companies’ involvement in the undertakings aimed at technological development but also identifies direct results of technological innovations implementation. Moreover, he shows market and financial outcomes resulting from these undertakings. On the base of the research findings, there is no doubt that protechnological activities of insurance companies highly influence their competitiveness. Such increase of competitiveness arises from the increase of insurance services’ market value.
