Summary/Abstract: This study is a part of a debate with reference to selected public sector organisations, such as public higher education institutions. Its aim is to identify the antecedences of cooperation of public higher education institutions with external entities. The given issue is important since the task of public higher education institutions, and their subsystem of interorganisational relations in particular, is to create favourable conditions for their proper adjustment to the environment, with a guarantee of their effectiveness at the same time.
