Summary/Abstract: The present article offers a linguistic investigation concerning the representation of prominent business personalities in the press. This issue is addressed by outlining the metaphorical networks underlying contemporary journalistic discourse. The analysis combines the theoretical tools of cognitive semantics with authentic language samples extracted from both popular and scholarly business English magazines, newspapers and reports.
