Summary/Abstract: Proposing a cognitive semantic exploration of the metaphorical representations of careers in English, the article seeks to reveal the conceptual display of metaphorical patterns across a range of distinct discourse areas. Career interviews, business articles focused on career development in the business written press, as well as career opportunities sections on company websites are interrogated for this purpose.
