Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the legal regime governing public meetings in the Republic of Serbia. It singles out problematic and obsolete provisions which, in the opinion of the author, need to be aligned with current constitutional solutions and contemporary legal standards. In particular, this refers to the provisions pertaining to the registration of public meetings and their location, the tuning of reasons for prohibiting public meetings, and finally to the introduction of effective judicial review of restricting the right to public assembly.
