Summary/Abstract: Globalization indicates that companies must redefine the approach to the environment, namely through a global perspective. Organizations cannot develop strategies only based on national boundaries of a particular state because it became clear that an incident in one country could affect other countries as the political crisis in Syria or the tragedies in the garment sector in Bangladesh, just to name a few, reflects it. The field of corporate social responsibility (CSR) has substantially contributed to the awareness of several issues previously considered to be unimportant or simply ignored. As a general concept, CSR concerns individuals and companies as part of the society. The CSR concept strictly links with the concept of sustainable development, which it is followed by ethical and transparent behavior, taking into account the expectations of all stakeholders. Specifically, it refers to the integration of ethics into the strategic vision of the entities to effectively manage the social and ethical issues associated with its activity. CSR should be part of companies’ business plan, and will be reflected on their decisions and activities in relation to their employees, the society and environment. The CSR main goal is to drive change in organizations towards sustainability, with the condition to protect the interests of stakeholders.
