Summary/Abstract: This article aims to show the possibilities of developing perceptual skills in preschool children with the use of exercises and musical games. On the basis of a theoretical analysis regarding the role of family and preschool environment in the development of musicality in children, as well as empirical references, an attempt was made to answer the following question: • How is the perceptual competence of preschool children developed with regard to music? • What is the place of musical games in the development of reception capabilities in children? • What is the level of participation of little listeners in musical concerts and programmes? The subject of the article can serve as an inspiration for further research with respect to musical education of preschool children.
