Summary/Abstract: This text is meant to draw attention to the excessive use of ethnolect language formsin German mass media. On the basis of short stories by Michael Freidank about everydayissues the author not only carries out an analysis of language forms departing from thestandard language, but also, and most importantly, works out and delineates the motivesunderlying the occurrence of ethnolect language forms in unnaturally large quantities inGerman media productions of a comic character.
