Information Society in Lithuania: Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Development

Summary/Abstract: The main objective of this study is to analyze the level of development of the information society in Lithuania. The research methodology, based on a review of certain measures used to assess the level of development of the information society, is presented at the beginning of the paper. Then thecurrent information society development strategy of Lithuania for 2014–2020 is presented. The empirical section discusses the key trends and indicators of the implementation of this strategy. Based on data from international reports on e-commerce, a comparative analysis of Lithuania's position compared to other countries of the world and the EU was carried out.
