THE VILLAGE AS DWELLING-PLACE AND THE BUILDING TRADITION IN LUNXHERI (ethnographic survey)

Summary/Abstract: The article is organised in three main parts with respective titles: 1. The dwellingplaces, the character and antiquity; 2. The lunxheriots, well-known masters of the hydric constructions and 3. The court of the dwelling-place and the family constructions. For each of the parts are given data of interest from the ethnographic point of view which are based either in investigation or in documentary and bibliographic sources. The article casts light on phenomena connected with the building tradition of the vicinities of lunxheri, which from the administrative point of view are included in the prefecture of Gjirokastër. The photos accompanying the article help for the further completion of the cognitive table of the ethnographic vicinities in question. Interesting for the qualified reader is also the relatively rich bibliography which accompanies the article.
