Summary/Abstract: The Albanian people, which is one of the most ancient in the Balkans, has developed along its history a rich and diverse building activity , very distinguished in comparison to other Balkans people,. However in this process could not be neglected the mutual exchange process of building techniques and styles which happened between these countries. It was occurred because these people have lived and continue to exist very close to each other. On other side, such reality has raised the attention of the ethnologists and scholars who have been engaged with the study of our architectural heritage. This paper aims to present certain valuable evidences on the Albanian building masters, which are related to the role and their place within this heritage. They belonged to a certain sort of people who have gained the skills by themselves and are tried to transfer them by ―father to son‖, thus keeping a continuity of generations. Despite my individual research which has been related to the Albanian village (inside and outside of the current Albanian borders), this paper has considered even other important sources. These are obtained from several publications of national and foreign researchers as well as of archives in which are collected by different scholars since mid years of 40‘ until to the late 90‘ (century XX). I want to briefly mention the ethnographic expeditions who had conducted since 70‘ year of twentieth century till now and where three of them have taken place within Albanian regions of Macedonia , four in Kosovo and only one in the Albanian communities in Montenegro.
