Summary/Abstract: The article presents the essence and importance of standardization. It also describes the concept of quality management systems with particular requirements of ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO13485: 2016 and ISO / TS16949: 2009 and the benefits of certification. It makes an attempt to analyze the certification of quality management systems in the years 2007–2014 in the world, with particular emphasis on Europe, especially Poland.
