Summary/Abstract: The author discusses about two Rhodian amphora stamps discovered in the lapse between the two World Wars in the Late Iron Age settlement from Cetățeni and he considers them as the oldest stamps of eponym and of fabricant, respectively, from that site: the eponym Xenofanes (189 BC) and the fabricant Aristeidas 2 (having a period of activity from ca. 193 BC to ca. 174/172 BC). The dating of the two pieces, conformable to the revised chronology (“low”) of the Rhodian amphora stamps, brings further arguments for considering the establishing of the settlement from Cetățeni at the latest in the beginnings of the 2nd century BC.
