Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the aspects of implementation of music education in 5th–6th forms of a comprehensive school. The research presents the situation of music education in Raseiniai district, the level of music achievements of pupils of 5th–6th forms is revealed in the areas of intonation, rhythmic development, knowledge on music writing, development of musical memory. it was found out that the knowledge of music by pupils in general meets the requirements set in General programmes’ and education standards (2003) and comprehensive school programmes (1995); music education content is being implemented satisfactory.
