Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the thematic aspect of 186 music pedagogy area’s publications of scientific journals “Acta paedagogica Vilnensia”, “Pedagogika”, “Tiltai” and “Kūrybos erdvės”. The research revealed the dominating themes of research on music pedagogy, purposefulness of the research objects in different educational institutions, major music courses of action, kinds of music, systems of music education, preconditions for education and development by music, psychological notions etc. Within the period 1995–2008. recommendations on what fields of music pedagogy are worth choosing as research objects are provided.
