Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the instrument of labor productivity in the local government units (LGUs); which is an audit workload. The article presents an outline of the methodology of such an audit and an example of the results that may be the basis for making management decisions. Taking up this issue; the authors formulated two research theses. Firstly; in local government; as in across the public sector; there are very large but poorly diagnosed differences in the performance of individual employees. Secondly; despite the lack of a database system; there are knowledge resources and research methods that allow for the creation of a credible system of benchmarking workload in local government.
