Summary/Abstract: The attitudes of Romas and their approach to regionalism, the cross-border cooperation and their willingness to take part in local administation are being reviewed by this research. The results show that they do not find the solution of their social position in regionalism despite accepting a participative form of democracy. They perfectly know which rights derived from the cultural authonomy area could be realised. Accordingly, their statements are based on a high level of consciousness largely owing to the fact that they have failed to realise them in the past few decades. The authenticity that Serbia is not a decentralised country is being emphasised by working activities, in spite of the fact that such a process is likely to be adequate to its multicultural arrangement.
