Summary/Abstract: In this research we cope with national minorities from Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia, with the aim of analysing their attitudes towards regionalism, cross-border cooperation as well as their increased participation in the local administration affairs. The results show the fact that representatives of these minorities do not perceive the changes of their own social position through regionalism. However, they appear to be willing to take part in such a form of democratic activities, the evidence of which is found in their apprehension of their own rights, stemming from the authentic cultural authonomy area, as well as in their knowledge to accomplish them. This displays their attitudes as upto- date, specially due to their realisation which has been awaited for decades.
