Summary/Abstract: The proposed theme introduces into scholarly circle of knowledge the names of Bulgarians who have studied or participated into courses at the Academy of Fine Arts Albertina in Torino after Bulgaria’s Liberation from Ottoman domination until 1944. In 2008 a number of available documents in the Academy archive have been searched through – matricular books, examination protocols, file records of the enrolled artists. The information about some of these names of Bulgarian artists is somewhat more comprehensive (biography data, photos, address registrations in Italy, years and dates of enrollement, stipends, studied subjects and examination marks, information for received awards and incentives, payed administrative fees), for others – the documented evidence contains only the name, supplemented by sparse and not always correctly written biographic data. Because of the repeated bombing attacks on Torino during the World War II the archive of the Academy of Albertina has unfortunately been preserved to quite a small degree, but despite tof his fact there is enough evidence with which we can fill in the empty spaces and inexact facts about the professional way of more than 40 Bulgarians who have acquired their art education there during the last decade of the 19th and first half of the 20-ieth centuries.
