Summary/Abstract: In crisis conditions healthcare related entities have to face a dilemma to choose the way they should function in order not to decrease patients’ availability of healthcare services and not to decrease the quality of their services provided under their specified and frequently decreased budgets. One of the ways to look for savings in the contexts of costs is to revise costs to be borne while performing logistics related actions. It may turn out to be necessary to analyse whether it is possible and justified to outsource logistics activities to specialised logistics entities. Looking for new partners who provide logistic services in a complex manner is a classical dilemma in logistics: make or buy. Therefore, in the article attempts to answer the following questions are made: 1) In which conditions can logistic outsourcing be an effective solution that would increase effectiveness of hospitals? 2) Which competencies should an entity that provides logistic services have to meet requirements set by hospitals whose task is to provide people with healthcare services, even free of charge in case patient’s life and health are exposed to risk.
