Summary/Abstract: In order to shape travel behaviours effectively, it is necessary to explore thereal motivation behind particular decisions on how to travel. They can be determined byinvestigating people’s opinions broadly on the issue, concerning both their convictionsand external considerations shaping those convictions. The aim of this article is to classifyexpectations and preferences connected with travel behaviours of students, based onoriginal poll. We distilled by means of cluster analysis similarities between respondents’perception of different alternative means of transport among young people. Due to theorderly character of formulated opinions, the dendrogram was built using the single linkagemethod (nearest neighbour method) agglomeration method and the Euclidean distancemeasure.
