Estimating the net cost of the universal service on the chosen example

Summary/Abstract: Entities operating in the public sector, where market mechanisms are impaired should seek effective tools for improving the efficiency of their operations. The purpose of this article is to present the possibility of using the concept of net cost of universal service to improve the efficiency of actors of the universal service. This article presents the results of estimating the net cost of the universal postal service of the Polish Post. The way how to use that method has been shown through the presentation of estimating the net cost of postal services on the example of the Polish Post Office and postal services market.
