Summary/Abstract: The oppositions crucial for the structural understanding of the field of photography are examined: objectivity vs. subjectivity, artwork vs. document. Photography is de- fined as a field of the practice of seeing and thinking. Investigating the tendencies of contemporary photography, it is argued that the popularity and availability of photocameras transforms the very field of photography. As a case, street photography and the phenomenon of street style blogs are examined.
